A bruising offense led the Hamilton Broncs to a 35-21 win over the Libby Loggers on Oct. 18.

The loss is Libby’s second of the year, coming quick on the heels of a 28-12 defeat at the hands of Dillon. With the win, Hamilton (7-1) is poised to head into the playoffs with a bye-week as the No. 1 seed.

The Loggers (6-2) enjoyed the lead—albeit briefly—in the second quarter after Ayden Williamson racked up a three-yard touchdown run. But the Broncs quickly rallied behind quarterback Carson Rostad. By halftime, the score was 21-7 in Hamilton’s favor.

They did not look back.

By the game’s end, the Broncs had chewed up 497 yards. Senior running back Landon Duce accounted for 216 of those yards.

“Landon does a great job,” said Hamilton coach Bryce Carver, speaking to 406MTSports.com. “He hasn’t scored now in a couple games, but he doesn’t care. He just keeps working.”

Before falling to Dillon and Hamilton, Libby won six consecutive games. For the second week in a row, head coach Neil Fuller stressed the need for discipline among his players. Mistakes and miscues played a key role in the loss, he said.

“Hamilton is as good as a football team we’ll see all year,” he told 406MTSports.com. “If we’re going to compete with the big boys, we gotta cut out those goofy mistakes.”
