Guinan will bring honesty and integrity to city council

Honesty and integrity are important characteristics for any elected official.

It’s also what’s lacking in some of the current Sandpoint city council members and several mayoral and city council candidates for that body, where many are currently registered as Republicans but are in fact liberal Democrats.

Which begs the question: if one is willing to mislead voters on their political leanings to either get him or herself elected, what else would one be willing to mislead voters on?

It’s time for a change on the Sandpoint City Council.

Jacque Guinan offers much-needed honesty and integrity. Not only does she have experience with managing large budgets, she’s been a small business owner, and is having the tough conversations that the current city council has mostly ignored: the repeated road destruction is harming local businesses; the environmental hazards stemming from inadequate sewage disposal needs immediate solutions; and the exponential, and unsustainable, increase in spending in just the past few years must be addressed.

It’s time to respect all area residents again and show them that honesty and integrity is not just a campaign talking point.

I urge you to vote for Jacque Guinan for city council on Nov. 5.
