It's time for a change on Sandpoint council
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 5 years, 3 months AGO
Sandpoint is quickly becoming a place where only tourists and the wealthy will survive. From a city budget that’s grown exponentially, to its proposed rehab of area parks that’s directed not at residents but at tourism, for the most part, the city council has grown increasingly detached from the needs of area residents.
For years, they’ve ignored multiple sewage discharge violations that affect our water quality, they’ve cut necessary services like snow removal, and they’ve torn up the downtown roads repeatedly, each time making local businesses harder and harder to patronize.
It’s time for a change. Jacque Guinan offers voters just that: fiscal common sense, environmental stewardship, placing the needs of citizens over those of tourists, and working to create an environment where businesses can thrive.
For these reasons and more, I urge you to cast your vote for Jacque on November 5th. It’s time for a Sandpoint City Council that’s both welcoming and values the needs of area residents.
