Only those who vote for levy should pay for levy
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 5 years, 8 months AGO
1. LPOSD needs $6,837 per student, but Coeur d’Alene needs only $3,787 per student per two-year maintenance levy?
2. One in six people is a majority and can impose endless taxation on their neighbors as occurred in a recent levy?
3. Former Superintendent Shawn Woodward was truthful saying I will close outlying schools unless I get a 49% levy increase, despite declining enrollment?
4. Average teachers’ pay of $55,206 is inadequate, when other workers average $35,000?
5. Each household only pays only $7 a month extra? No lie is so effective as a half truth.
6. We should reward people who show students that unethical actions and lying pays big dividends?
7. People making $35,000 or less should pay an untruthful employee $143,000?
8. Parents who homeschool or private school, should be forced to also pay for their neighbors’ children’s education?
9. It is ethical to deny non-resident property owners a vote, but force them to pay $9,637,623 of the levy at the highest rate
allowed by law; make non-voters and “no” voters pay $8,162,377; (those who voted “yes” may only pay $7,600,000?)
10. People living on your taxes should be allowed to vote to increase their wages?
If you believe this then vote for this levy, but I will vote no.
Remedy: Have those who vote for the levy, pay for it. Those not voting for it should not be forced to pay anything, unless voluntarily.
Parents who private school or homeschool with their own money provide superior education for much less than half public school
cost per student. We are human beings, not cogs in a tax machine. Our freedoms flow from God, not government. The freedom to
spend our own money cannot rightfully be taken away by our “employees.”
