The City of Whitefish plans to take internal applications next month to permanently fill its City Manager position.

Mayor John Muhlelfd said the city will begin internally advertising for the position on Nov. 4 and plans to interview applicants on Nov. 18.

Dana Smith has been serving as interim City Manager for the city since September, while still handling her duties as Finance Director for the city.

Former City Manager Adam Hammatt abruptly resigned from the position on Sept. 6, after serving more than two years in the job.
