Guinan will tackle urgent issues city council has ignored

What does it say about a candidate who elects to skip a forum where they can answer questions from prospective voters?

What does it say about a candidate that’s registered in the opposite party of their own political worldview?

And what does it say about a candidate who ignores the most pressing issues facing Sandpoint voters?

It says this: the absent candidates lack respect for voters; they are not above misrepresenting themselves; and they will continue ignoring the important issues, like the dire sewage infrastructure issue, until they become “emergencies,” sticking Sandpoint taxpayers with a heavy tax burden and ramifications that will impact the entire region.

It’s time to place an adult on the city council who’s willing and ready to face the major challenges the current board has kicked down the road for far too long. Jacque Guinan promises to do just that: she won’t ignore the environmental impacts and safety concerns resulting from the city council’s years of sewage system neglect; she’ll address overspending on vanity projects; she’ll place the needs of local businesses and residents first; and she’ll make sure tax dollars are spent wisely and efficiently.

It’s time for change.

For all these reasons and more, I ask you to cast your vote for Jacque Guinan on Nov. 5.
