PRIEST RIVER — Grand jury indictments against two Priest Lake residents are being unsealed as their lewd conduct cases edge toward trial dates.

The grand jury indicted William Scott Wegner on two counts of lewd and lascivious conduct in March. A superceding indictment added a third charge of rape.

Wegner, 40, is accused of molesting a 5-year-old girl in March 2018. He’s further accused of molesting and raping another girl who was between the ages of 12-14 from 2017 to 2019.

A month after Wegner’s indictment, Sheenagh Elizabeth Adams, 35, was indicted on charges of felony injury to a child and two counts of aiding and abetting Wegner’s misconduct.

The indictment in Adams’ case alleges that she attempt to conceal Wegner’s criminal sexual misconduct. Adams is also accused of attempting to conceal the teen’s pregnancy, which was a product of Wegner’s alleged rape, and secured a motel room for Wegner under an assumed name while he was on the lam, court documents indicate.

Wegner posted a $10,000 surety to secure his liberty while awaiting trial.

A two-day bench trial is set to start in 1st District Court on Sept. 30.

Adams is free on her own recognizance while her case is pending, court records show. Her jury trial is set for Sept. 10.
