SPOKANE — Chris Irvin passed for 315 yards and six touchdowns, and Lake City bounced back from a heartbreaking loss to defeat Lewis and Clark 45-21 in a nonleague high school football game Friday night at Joe Albi Stadium.

“He was making his reads, he was playing within the offense,” Lake City coach Brian Fulp said. “And when he had to improvise, he made some plays.”

Irvin was 18 of 22 through the air for the Timberwolves (1-1), who gave up two late touchdowns last week in a loss at Madison of Rexburg.

“We responded really well from last week,” Fulp said. “We had our best week of practice. We came in more physical, and we set the tone with that.”

Logan Jeanselme caught four touchdown passes, and finished with nine receptions for 172 yards for Lake City. He also rushed for 107 yards, including a 72-yard score.

Matthew Whitcomb caught three passes for 57 yards, including a 45-yard TD, and Pete Negron’s lone catch went for seven yards and a score.

The T-Wolves also forced two Tiger turnovers.

Uriah Chavez rushed for 75 yards on 11 carries for Lake City, which faces Ferris next week in its home opener.
