BOOSTER: Wrong guys punished
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 5 years, 4 months AGO
Booster Board President Dussell/North Idaho College Board Trustees,
Effective immediately, please accept my resignation as a board member of the NIC Booster Club. I have been a board member and a generous financial supporter of NIC athletics for 13 years.
I was exceptionally disappointed in the NIC Administration’s mostly ceremonial appeal of the NWAC sanctions issued by a “kangaroo court” of three biased and small-minded NWAC athletic directors. President Rick MacLennan and Vice President Graydon Stanley demonstrated a strong sense of self-preservation and little sense of standing tall in the face of sanctions far in excess of any “reasonable man” standard.
Athletic Director Al Williams and Coach Corey Symons committed no wrong in the hopes of gaining an unfair advantage in athletic competition. Each is a man of honesty, integrity and unquestioned commitment to NIC student athletes. And, I might add that Mr. Williams is an NIC alumnus and former outstanding student-athlete. Currently, Al Williams is NIC’s best respected ambassador in the Coeur d’Alene community. I stand with each of these good men.
President MacLennan and Vice President Stanley have failed North Idaho College as an institution and set back NIC athletics for years to come. It is their actions and future tenure at NIC that deserve further scrutiny.
