The fourth annual Idaho Conservation League’s Scott Reed Lecture and Dinner is set for 5 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Hayden Lake Country Club, 2362 E. Bozanta Drive.

The event honors the late Scott Reed, who co-founded ICL in 1973 to bring conservation issues in North Idaho to the Legislature. Fundraising efforts will help to support the Emerging Leaders in Environment program to engage, inspire and empower future conservationists in Idaho.

In attendance will be Mary Lou Reed, Scott’s wife; new and longtime members; current and past employees and other conservation advocates.

The keynote speaker will be Rick Johnson, former director of ICL. Johnson began as a volunteer and worked his way up to director of public lands in 1985. He then went on to work for the Sierra Club before coming back to ICL as director, a position he held for 24 years.

ICL’s current director, Justin Hayes, will also be among the speakers.

Tickets can be purchased at www.bit.ly/4thAnnualSRD or by mail, with a cash or check, to Idaho Conservation League, P.O. Box 2308, Sandpoint, ID 83864.
