Police name officers involved in Sept. 4 shooting

Post Falls Police identified five officers involved in a Sept. 4 shooting in which a man wielding a knife was killed by police.

- Officer Craig Wade: three-year veteran with the Coeur d’ Alene Police Department.

- Detective Nathan Herbig: two-year veteran with the Coeur d’ Alene Police Department and six-years prior law enforcement service with the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office.

- Officer Jacob Brazle: three-year veteran with the Coeur d’ Alene Police Department and three-years prior law enforcement service with the Spirit Lake Police Department.

- Deputy Doug Goodman: seven-year veteran with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.

- Trooper with the Idaho State Police, whose name is to be released at a later date.

Police said 29-year-old Fares J. Al Samno was shot at 9:50 a.m. on Sept. 4 at the intersection of Canfield Avenue and Pine Grove Drive after officers attempted to disarm him with a Taser and shoot him with bean bags.
