Lakeland sweeps Sandpoint

SANDPOINT — Olivia Cooper had six aces and 18 digs to lead the Lakeland Hawks to a 25-16, 25-19, 26-24 win over the Sandpoint Bulldogs in a 4A Inland Empire League match at Les Rogers Court on Tuesday.

“We played hard and aggressive tonight,” Lakeland coach Kelsie Badger said. “Our girls had a great night both offensively and defensively. We are controlling the ball better off serve-receive, and are able to speed up the tempo on our side of the net.”

It marked the second time Lakeland has beaten Sandpoint since 2005. The Hawks also notched a win over the Bulldogs in 2017.

Abbey Neff had 31 assists, Katy Ryan 19 kills and four blocks and Daphne Carroll 12 kills for Lakeland (8-2, 2-0 4A IEL), which travels to Coeur d’Alene on Thursday.

Priest River

SPIRIT LAKE — Jaycie Pratt had 14 digs and 15 assists for the Tigers in a 24-26, 21-25, 26-24, 25-22, 15-10 Intermountain League win over the Spartans at Timberlake High.

Brooke Jessen had 15 digs, nine kills and one ace, Kylie Marneris 20 digs and three aces and Taylor Suko 14 digs, 12 kills and six aces for Timberlake (4-6, 2-0 IML), which travels to St. Maries on Thursday.

Harlee Meek had 31 assists for Priest River.

Cd’A Charter

KELLOGG — Megan MacKinney had five kills, 18 assists and four aces for the Panthers in a 25-21, 25-23, 28-26 loss to the Wildcats at Andrews Gymnasium.

“We struggled a little with serve-receive tonight,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Cindy Beyer said. “Our setters had to run a little bit tonight, and they did. Kellogg did a nice job tonight.”

Maddie Kociela had eight kills, Rylee Peterson five kills, Jaclyn Paterson four kills and Quincy Rigg nine assists for Coeur d’Alene Charter (4-2, 0-2 IML), which faces Bonners Ferry on Thursday at Holy Family Catholic School.

Kellogg (4-1, 2-0) travels to Priest River on Thursday.

Mullan

PLUMMER — Tenley Lambert did a little bit of everything for the Knights in a North Star League match at Ron Miller Court.

Lambert had six kills, 12 digs, three aces and served 12 straight points in the decisive fourth set of a 14-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-11 win at Ron Miller Court.

“Tenley just got on a roll in that fourth set and had some well-placed balls, and just played a great match,” Lakeside coach Brad Veile said. “We didn’t play anywhere near our potential until the fourth set.”

Nicole Middleton had six kills, Glory Olson six kills and two blocks for Lakeside (3-2, 1-1 NSL), which travels to Kootenai on Thursday.

Talowa Fallingwater had two kills and one block and Jaynah Petit one ace for Mullan (2-3, 1-2), which hosts Wallace on Thursday.
