Smith's putting in gas station at Blue Moon intersection

Columbia Falls residents will soon have another option when it comes to fueling up their cars.
Construction is already well underway at the Blue Moon intersection of a Smith’s Fuel Center, which Columbia Falls Smith’s Manager Mike Ahlstrom says will be open the week before Thanksgiving.
According to Ahlstrom, the new gas station has been in the works for a while, but now was the right time to bring the plans to fruition.
“They have been talking about it and planning for years, but we got this plan during the summer and decided it was time to move forward with the project,” he said. “We thought that location made a lot of sense and that it would make getting gas a lot more convenient for people. We picked that location because we have a lot of our clientele coming from Whitefish and Evergreen, so that was a good central spot that would work well.”
Ahlstrom says the new gas station will include a convenience store with snacks, fountain drinks and other items. The station will employ eight or more people.
