Both boys and girls varsity soccer teams traveled to St. Maries for Intermountain League games on Saturday, Sept. 14, with both games ending in ties.

The boys soccer game ended 0-0, in part due to poor field conditions that Badgers coach Brycen Lunger said made it difficult for them to play the way that they like.

“Josh Beazer had several saves, including a beautiful save in the last minute of the game,” said Lunger. “Steven Carlson scored, but the goal was called back for offside.”

According to Lunger, Daniel Walker and Josh Beazer were standouts in the game, but he felt that the whole team played great.

“Just didn’t get the outcome we were looking for,” said Lunger.

The Lady Badger’s game also ended in a tie, with a score of 2-2.

“Goals were scored by Eika Willis and Morgan Burt, with an assist from Sophie Roemer,” said Badgers coach Emily Winebark. “Adrienne Brown did a great job on defense, defending against a fast and skilled forward from St. Maries.”

Also last week, the BFHS girls traveled to Kellogg on Tuesday, Sept. 10, recording a 3-3 tie against the Wildcats.

Both soccer teams have home games this week, hosting Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy today and Grangeville High School on Friday, Sept. 20.

The girls square off with Cd’A Charter at 5 p.m. today, with the boys game following at 7. On Friday, the Badger girls face Grangeville at 3 p.m., with the boys match beginning at 5.
