Franz Bakery Outlet moves to Dalton Avenue

With daily specials and many, many things baked, the Franz Bakery Outlet has moved from Government Way to 500 W. Dalton (two blocks west of U.S. 95).

Items include a variety of pies, buns, dippers, cheese pretzels, shortbread, chips, doughnuts, sweet rolls, cookies, jams and syrups. They also do special orders and deliveries to stores.

Cleary Building opens on Schreiber Way

Offering quality buildings of any type, Cleary Building Corp. has opened in Suite 800 at 3895 N. Schreiber Way.

Cleary constructs buildings for suburban, farm, commercial, residential and equine applications, churches, stores, manufacturing plants, warehouses, grain storage, bus garages, airplane hangars and houses.

The company began in 1978 and has more than 800 full-time employees in 81 branch offices, with its manufacturing plants in Hazelton, Idaho, Grand Island, Neb., and Verona, Wis.

Shopko Optical moving on Ironwood

The optical department of Shopko remained open when the main store closed on the north side of Ironwood, but on Sept. 30 it’s moving to Suite B (next to Rite Aid) in Ironwood Square, 212 W. Ironwood.

TDS Fiber Metrocom in Crossroads Center

With its grand opening Oct. 3-5, TDS Fiber Metrocom is in the Crossroads Center at 2834 Ramsey Road (and Appleway).

Providing samples of TV, phone and internet services, the retail location offers registrations, demonstrations and small events in a high-tech living room.

- A sign on property in the northwest corner of U.S. 95 and Wyoming Avenue says “Equipment Hayden” and “Landlocked Marine.”

- BMC (Stock Building Supply) is building a new place in the northeast corner of Prairie and Huetter to move from Kathleen and U.S. 95. Construction is underway and it should open in November.

- Black Lodge Brewing will be at 204 N. Third St.

- Shiki Sushi will be on Sherman.

- Blue Cross will be at 1812 N. Lakewood Drive in Riverstone late this month.

- Coeur d’Alene Paving and CDA Redi Mix are building a new place at 3110 N. Government Way.

- The Bier Haus will be in the former Camera Corral building at 515 Sherman.

- STCU will open a branch in Rathdrum later in the year.

- A Wake Up Call Coffee place will be in the former Taco Time area at 2517 N. Fourth.

- The new Bakery by the Lake will be on Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive.

- Aesthetica Skin & Beauty Bar will be at 1113 E. Sherman.

- A Maverik gas station-convenience store is under construction at the southwest corner of Government Way and Dalton Avenue.

- AutoZone is building a new place at Highway 54 and Sylvan Lane in Athol.

- A new pub-eatery will open next to Vertical Earth on East Sherman.

- Release Float Spa is open at River City Plaza off Highway 41. Details next week.

- Coeur d’Alene Vision Source will move from 850 Ironwood Drive to a new building at 3879 N. Schreiber Way in November.

- Watch for Monarch Ramen & Noodle House in the former Syringa location on Fourth Street.

- A new building for Idaho Central Credit Union is under construction at 1327 W. Appleway.

- Bi-Mart will open a new store in the former Stein’s Family Foods building at 16102 N. Highway 41 in Rathdrum.

- Hmmm. What’s happening on Atlas by Hern Iron Works?

- The former Burger King building at 216 Appleway has been sold to another fast-food vendor. Rumors are it’s Carl’s Jr., which would move.

- The new Hardwick Hardware is under construction at 3820 E. Mullan in Post Falls.

- The office of Physio One in Hayden is moving to 280 W. Prairie Ave.

- New businesses will be in the commercial area of the new Northern complex at Ramsey and Hanley.

- Walsh Law Group will be at 901 N. Fourth.

- Watch for an interesting development just north of Safeway on Government Way. The developer already has put in a cool water feature and evidently plans to have a coffee stand, car lot and rock shop.

- And speaking of cool, the Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruise boats have been extensively renovated and are now ADA accessible, even the restrooms.

- Uh, the TV weather people still say “further” instead of “farther” when looking at a map, and they spell the temperature will be in the “50’s” when it should be simply plural — “50s.” Speaking of weather, tomorrow is autumn.
