A 67-year-old Post Falls woman who police say was dealing methamphetamine is charged with trafficking and being a felon in possession of a firearm after a police raid at her home uncovered more than 2 ounces of crank.
Deborah Kay Butler-Gamble could face a minimum 15 years in prison if convicted.
Police say a tip from confidential informants led to a warrant being served Wednesday at Butler-Gamble’s home on the 300 block of South Sandpiper Loop.
Undercover officers surveilled the residence and pulled the trash from receptacles outside.
They found syringes, white crystalline residue and paraphernalia, including cleaning swabs, according to reports.
Officers from the North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force and the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office served the warrant later that day, at 1:30 p.m., and made multiple arrests.
Police found 11 gram bags of methamphetamine, as well as a bag containing 38 grams of meth, and a significant amount of heroin, according to a police report. In a safe, on a dresser and hidden in a cracker box, police found scales, plastic bags, paraphernalia and a large sum of U.S. currency, in mostly $20 bills.
A loaded .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver was also seized, police said.
Officers made four arrests including Butler-Gamble, who told police she had acquired the .38 from her previous husband.
Butler-Gamble has a previous felony drug conviction in Kootenai County. She was convicted of possession of a controlled substance in 2005.
Butler-Gamble allegedly told police that she had knowingly taken part in illegal drug sales.
“I’m guilty, I got caught with that, that’s all I have to say,” she told police, according to a report. “You guys know your [stuff].”
