GOLF: Fundraiser remembers volunteers
Dear Community Friends:
This year’s Family Promise North Idaho Annual Golf Scramble was dedicated to three devoted volunteers who passed away this last year: Earl Kendle, Andrea Paroni and Ron Keefer. We would like to thank those who donated toward a hole sponsorship in their memory. Earl was one of the people who brought the national nonprofit to Coeur d’Alene, Andrea served on the executive board, and Ron was one of the first coordinators for his church First Presbyterian. They all did so much more to give support Family Promise of North Idaho and we appreciate the help in recognizing them.
This year’s event raised close to $8,000 to help homeless children and their families make the changes they need to improve their lives. Heartfelt appreciation goes out to Jeff Kavdias CPA, Century 21 Beutler & Associates; Mountain West Bank for their sponsorships; Brent Stutzke CPA; Willamette Valley Bank; Numerica Credit Union; CORE Accounting; Payne West Insurance and North Idaho Title blessed FPNI with their hole sponsorships. We also had private cash donors, and their kindness was also noticed.
A golf scramble would be nothing without contests and prizes! Thank you to our in-kind donors: Circling Raven; The Highlands Golf Course; The Idaho Club Golf Course; Crickets Restaurant; Spokane Chiefs; Spokane Indians; Conor Hammons; Caruso’s Deli and Pizza; Sushi Kajiaa; Fort Ground Grill; Silverwood Theme Park; Caddy Shack Sports Bar and Grill; Mulligans Restaurant; Silver Mountain Water Park; Yonex Company; and Costco. Swag is always important! Thank you to Bill Burch for the granola bars; American Family Insurance for the ball markers and tees and to our late Andrea Paroni for securing the water bottles.
Family Promise NI has fun photographs to share on our webpage thanks to Liz Nunez. Please check them out. Pastry and More guaranteed a delightful dessert at the end of our dinner provided by the cook at the Links Golf Course. A gratitude shout out goes to the staff at the Links for all their help and especially to Darrell Hull for making it a stress free event. The participants gave us some good feedback and they noted what a beautiful day it was for golf and what fun they had.
The committee for the 2019 Golf Scramble made sure it was a successful event! Thanks to them and the understanding of their spouses for the hours they worked. Thank you to Nicole Hammons for the sponsorship form and logo.
Sincerely,
TERI BURCH
