Cd'A school board declares opening

The Board of Trustees for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools declared a vacancy for the Zone 5 trustee position during a special board meeting Monday, upon accepting the resignation of Trustee Tom Hearn. Hearn has moved out of the zone he represented.
The board will appoint a person to serve the remainder of the current term through December 2021.
The Board of Trustees asks any eligible community member interested in applying for the open trustee position to submit an application by Monday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. to the Clerk of the Board, Lynn Towne, at 1400 N. Northwood Center Court Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
Board member eligibility requires the candidate be a registered voter in the school district with residency in the zone that he or she represents.
The Zone 5 trustee represents residents in the center portion of the school district. A map and legal description of the zone can be found on the district website: www.cdaschools.org/trusteezones.
An application packet must include:
1. Letter of Interest (typed, double-spaced, 12-point font, up to 2 pages) that includes:
- Contact information: telephone, email and residential address
- A statement about your background
- The main reasons for applying for the trustee position
- Your top three objectives if appointed to the position
2. Resume
The Board of Trustees will review all applications and may appoint a candidate at a public meeting scheduled for the week of Oct. 28 at 5 p.m. at Midtown Center, 1505 N. Fifth St.
