Anna ‘Ruth’ Kenck, 94

Anna “Ruth” Kenck, 94, of Post Falls, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene.

She was born on Jan. 26, 1925, in Pelham, Tenn., to George and Bettie (Jacobs) Smith. After retiring in 1976, she moved from California back home to Tennessee and in 1987, she moved to North Idaho to be close to family. Ruth married Louie Kenck, the love of her life, in 1995.

She enjoyed long drives in the mountains, cooking, gardening and traveling. She traveled to Hawaii with her son and family in 2001, and took a bucket list cruise to Alaska with her granddaughter, Julia White, in 2007. Ruth also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her son, Edward Marlowe and his wife, Beth from Post Falls; granddaughter, Julia White and husband, John of Post Falls; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Louie Kenck, and daughters, Judy Slama and Jacqueline Forsberg.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 25, 2019, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, ID 83854, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
