COEUR d’ALENE — Jacob Overoye stopped four shots for the Lake City Timberwolves in a 4-0 nonleague win over the Lakeland Hawks on Wednesday under the lights at Lake City’s football field.
“It was great to play under the lights in the stadium for our senior night game, even though the field is much narrower than a typical soccer pitch,” Lake City coach Alan Rich said. “We adjusted well to the narrow field, passed extremely well and adapted to the narrow field. Lakeland defended really well and blocked a ton of shots. Their goalkeeper made some great saves.”
On Saturday, Lake City (6-2-2) hosts Lewiston and Lakeland (2-8-1) travels to Saint George’s in Spokane.
First half — 1, LC, Bryce Allred (Jacob Janzen), 13:00. 2, LC, Noah Janzen (unassisted), 38:00. Second half — 3, LC, Ty Shaw (penalty kick), 60:00. 4, LC, Walker Jump (Ty Shaw), 70:00.
