At Polson this past weekend, both Pirate soccer teams flashed some teeth on offense as they prevailed over the visiting Libby Loggers with multiple goal scoring performances.

In the girls contest, Sophia Moderie scored four goals and Autumn Burland scored two goals.

Moderie has 13 goals on the season, while Burland has five.

In the boys contest, both Kaden Nelson and Austin Luper each scored two goals, while Davis Smith and Cade Lanier chipped in solos.

The Pirates found the sailing a bit rougher against Whitefish where the defending State A champs blanked the boys. The girls were bitten by the Lady Bulldogs, 7-2. Moderie scored two in that contest for the Lady Pirates.

Polson hosts Bigfork on Tuesday for their Homecoming contest.

Pirate plaque preference Burger-larized by Bulldogs

At Smith Fields in Whitefish for the 2018 State A boys soccer championship, the Polson Pirates and the Northern A conference champion Bulldogs would put on quite a show in an energetic quest to claim the coveted state A crown last Saturday. This would be just the third foray to the championship match in the history of the Pirate boys’ soccer program, who hoped that the idiomatic expression “third time’s a charm” would play out in Polson’s favor.
