Right place, right time for Anglin and NIC men

COEUR d’ALENE — It was one of those right place, right time kind of moments for freshman Alwayne Anglin on Wednesday afternoon.
Anglin, a forward from Fairbanks, Alaska, scored the lone goal of the match in the 72nd minute as North Idaho College edged the Walla Walla Warriors 1-0 in Northwest Athletic Conference play on Wednesday at Eisenwinter Field.
Anglin scored off an assist from Jacob Luhrs, who took a free kick and found Anglin.
“Alwayne made good use of his time today,” NIC coach Ken Thompson said. “He pressed the ball and did a great job.”
NIC (4-3-2, 2-1-1 NWAC) travels to Columbia Basin on Saturday.
Walla Walla is 3-2-4 overall and 0-1-3 in league.

COEUR d’ALENE — Lakeland High product Sofia Schnepf gave the Cardinals the lead in the 60th minute, but the Warriors closed with two unanswered goals in the final 10 minutes to earn the Northwest Athletic Conference win at Eisenwinter Field.
Kaysha Bailey had five saves for NIC (5-3-2, 3-2 NWAC), which travels to Columbia Basin College of Pasco on Saturday.
Walla Walla is 10-0-0, 5-0-0.
