Dodson named new Lincoln County Undersheriff

Lincoln County has a new undersheriff.
Brad Dodson was named the post Sept. 19.
According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, Dodson was originally hired as a Deputy Sheriff with Lincoln County in March 2009 and subsequently completed the Montana Law Enforcement Basic Academy. He currently holds the Peace Officer Advanced POST Certificate.
Dodson served as a narcotics detective over the past three years, and prior to that worked patrol where he served as Reserve Coordinator and a Field Training Officer, and became a certified instructor with the State of Montana.
Dodson is currently involved with active shooter training with the Sheriff’s Office and will be the canine unit supervisor.
Dodson is a member of Unite For Youth and volunteers with Libby Schools.
He has spearheaded the annual Shop with a Cop program event since its inception during the 2013 holiday season.
Dodson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He lives in Libby with his wife and two children.
