BONNERS FERRY — On Monday, March 30, Boundary County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a man outside a residence at 8:50 a.m.

“The initial report came from a resident at Katka and Crossport Road,” said Boundary County Undersheriff Rich Stephens. “After the deputies responded out there, we found that he had been involved in a crash.”

According to Stephens, 67-year old Michael Plantz was driving down Katka Road at the intersection of Crossport Road when he missed the corner and slid off. The vehicle hit a couple of trees and boulders, and ended up in a creek.

Boundary Ambulance also responded to the scene. Plantz was reported to have only suffered minor injuries.
