WENATCHEE — With people unable to borrow physical books from North Central Regional Library branches, the library system has expanded its online material and offers a virtual library card called an eCard.

Library buildings throughout the system, which includes Grant, Okanogan, Chelan and Douglas counties, closed March 16 in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The mail order service for physical books was suspended March 25.

People can sign up for the eCard at www.ncrl.org.

Library patrons are being allowed to borrow more online books, audio books, music and movies at one time. To help people navigate the online system, employees have produced videos, which are available on NCRL social media. New videos for children’s story time also are being posted to social media, along with home-school resources, health information and book recommendations.

Grant County NCRL locations are in Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy, Royal City, Soap Lake, George, Mattawa, Coulee City, Grand Coulee and Warden.
