RITZVILLE — A multi-vehicle collision closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred a little after 2 p.m. at milepost 200, about 10 miles west of Ritzville, involving seven vehicles including one semi. A number of people were transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, one of them by air, but nobody was seriously injured, according to Washington State Trooper Jeff Sevigney. The highway had been reopened by 6 p.m.
The collision resulted from reduced visibility caused by blowing dust, according to Sevigney. He urged motorists to use extra caution at this time of year, with so much dust raised by agricultural activity.
