Flathead County resident dies of coronavirus

The Flathead City-County Health Department on Monday confirmed the first death of a Flathead County resident related to COVID-19 in Flathead County.

The person was over the age of 65 and had underlying health conditions.

“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the patient’s family and friends,” said Hillary Hanson, Flathead City-County Health Department Health Officer. “We want to remind our community about the importance of staying at home. We must work together to protect our most vulnerable neighbors.”

There were 34 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Flathead county, as of Monday morning, with nine recoveries, according to the health department.

Montana had 387 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and six recorded deaths. There is 169 individuals who have recovered from the virus and almost 9,000 people have been tested for it.

Total hospitalizations related to the virus were 47, according to the state.
