Mildred “Millie” Estel Walter, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at her home in Temecula, California.
She was born June 6, 1924, in Polson to Herman and Mary Walter. She was the fifth of seven children: Vernon Walter, Edith (Toby) Dutro, Arnold (Corky) Walter, Kenny Walter, Virgil Walter and Betty Reid.
The children attended school in a one-room schoolhouse known as “the little red schoolhouse” in Lakeside. Millie attended Flathead County High School, where she received her high school diploma.
She is survived by her four children: Stephen Chavarria of Moreno Valley, California, Diana Witt of Idaho, Pauline Boland and Lisa Friddle of Temecula, California; six grandchildren: Travis Page and Serene Streeper of Idaho, Cody and Jessica Boland, Brandon and Briana Friddle of Temecula, California; and four great-grandchildren: Keidren, Lachlan, Lili and Charlie Page of Idaho.
Millie will be greatly missed by her family, relatives and many, many friends.
