Coronavirus: Four new cases reported in Grant County Tuesday

GRANT COUNTY - There were 147 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Grant County as of Monday evening, with three new cases reported in Royal City and one new case reported in the Mattawa area, according to the Grant County Health District.

There were also 28 probable cases. Fifty-two people had recovered enough to no longer be placed under quarantine.

Eight people sickened with the novel coronavirus are hospitalized.

Quincy had 49 confirmed cases. Moses Lake reported 30, and the Mattawa had 36 confirmed cases respectively as of Sunday evening.

Ephrata reported 13 confirmed cases and Royal City had ten. Warden and Soap Lake each reported four, and the Grant County portion of the Othello area had a single case. The Coulee City area and Grand Coulee/Electric city have not had a confirmed case from their communities, according to the health district.

In addition to tests that have come back positive, 1,300 have come back negative. As of Tuesday evening, around 10.2 percent of Grant County tests have come back negative, compared with around eight percent statewide, according to statistics from the state Department of Health.

Almost 62 percent of positive cases were women, while almost 83 percent have been 60 years old or younger.
