GRANT COUNTY - There were 151 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Grant County as of Wednesday evening, with one new case reported each in Ephrata, Moses Lake, the Quincy area and the Mattawa area, according to the Grant County Health District.

There were also 32 probable cases and 141 tests are still pending results. Fifty-two people had recovered enough to no longer be placed under quarantine, the health district reported last Friday in a weekly update.

Eight people sickened with the novel coronavirus are hospitalized.

Quincy had 50 confirmed cases. Moses Lake reported 31, and the Mattawa had 37 confirmed cases respectively as of Wednesday evening.

Ephrata reported 14 confirmed cases and Royal City had ten. Warden and Soap Lake each reported four, and the Grant County portion of the Othello area had a single case. The Coulee City area and Grand Coulee/Electric city have not had a confirmed case from their communities, according to the health district.

In addition to tests that have come back positive, 1,347 have come back negative. As of Wednesday evening, around 10.1 percent of Grant County tests have come back positive, compared with around eight percent statewide, according to statistics from the state Department of Health.

Almost 62 percent of positive cases thus far were women, while almost 83 percent have been 60 years old or younger.
