Plowing crews in Glacier National Park are making progress on the alpine section of Going-to-the-Sun Road.

On the west side of the scenic highway, crews are working in the Granite Creek area about 1.5 miles beyond the Loop. Snow depths of up to 15 feet are being encountered, according to the Park Service.

Last week crews passed through the west side tunnel.

Glacier National Park, including the entire length of the Sun Road, is temporarily closed at the recommendation of state and local public health authorities.
