Coronavirus: Mattawa man sickened with coronavirus dies

GRANT COUNTY - A Mattawa man in his 50s died in his home today due to complications from COVID-19, according to the Grant County Health District. He is the third Grant County man to die after being infected with the virus, and the youngest.
No new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported Friday, the second day of no new reported cases in the last week, following over a month of steady increases. Two additional people have recovered enough to leave isolation, according to the health district.
There were 155 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Grant County as of Friday evening, according to the Grant County Health District.
There were also 29 probable cases and 117 tests still pending results. Fifty-four people had recovered enough to no longer be placed under quarantine, the health district reported last Friday in a weekly update.
Eight people sickened with the novel coronavirus are currently hospitalized.
Quincy had 51 confirmed cases. Moses Lake reported 32, and the Mattawa had 37 confirmed cases respectively as of Friday evening.
Ephrata reported 14 confirmed cases and Royal City had twelve. Warden and Soap Lake each reported four, and the Grant County portion of the Othello area had a single case. The Coulee City area and Grand Coulee/Electric city have not had a confirmed case from their communities, according to the health district.
In addition to tests that have come back positive, 1,449 have come back negative.
