PHD: Three new COVID-19 cases tallied

SANDPOINT — Three new cases of novel coronavirus were tallied in Kootenai County, the Panhandle Health District said on Thursday.
The new cases bring the regional count to 63, with 59 cases in Kootenai County and four in Bonner County, according to the health district.
There have been no deaths in the Panhandle because of the virus that causes COVID-19. The coronavirus has been not been detected in Boundary, Shoshone or Benewah counties.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare said on Thursday there were 34 new confirmed or probable coronavirus, bringing the statewide total to 1,836 cases. The virus is blamed for 54 deaths in Idaho.
The 18-29 age group accounts for the most statewide cases — 364. The age group with the second-highest amount of cases is 50- to 59-year-olds, with 326 cases, according to Health & Welfare.
The Northeast Tri-County Health District said there are a total of 12 cases in Pend Oreille, Stevens and Ferry counties. Stevens has nine cases, while Pend Oreille and Ferry counties have two and one case, respectively. No Washington residents within the district have been hospitalized, although the virus killed a Stevens County resident.
The state of Montana recorded three new coronavirus infections on Thursday, bringing the statewide total to 442 cases. There are seven cases in Lincoln County and none in Sanders County, according to Montana public health officials.
