Three Adams County deaths from coronavirus, complications announced

OTHELLO — Two Adams County residents died after contracting COVID-19, and a third resident died from complications associated with the disease during the week ending Aug. 3.
That brings the total number of deaths associated with the coronavirus outbreak in Adams County to four, according to information from Adams County Health Department.
Two of the deaths were announced July 28, and the third was announced July 31.
The county reported 30 new confirmed cases from July 28 through Aug. 3. That included 28 cases in Othello, one in Ritzville and one in Hatton.
Three people were hospitalized as of Aug. 3.
To date, 394 Adams County residents have tested positive for coronavirus since the pandemic began. Of those, 381 are in the Othello area, six in the Ritzville ZIP code, three in the Lind ZIP code, three in Hatton and one in Washtucna.
As of Aug. 3, 2,491 Adams County residents have been tested, and 117 tests were pending results.

Collision kills driver near Quincy
QUINCY — Adams Road near Quincy was closed for about three and a half hours Wednesday afternoon due to a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The car’s driver was killed in the crash. The collision occurred at about 12:45 p.m., according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, between Road 5 Northwest and Road 6 Northwest. The driver’s name was withheld pending notification of family members, said Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer. The case is still under investigation.
