Lake County authorities investigate Pablo shooting

One man was hospitalized and another man is being investigated after a shooting in Pablo Tuesday night.

According to Lake County Sheriff Don Bell, sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a shooting in the alley behind a bar in Pablo at 9:45 p.m.

It was reported that a disturbance had taken place where a resident from a house adjacent to the alleyway had a knife pulled on him by another man. The resident then shot the knife-wielding man.

The injured man was transported to a local hospital and later flown to a hospital in Missoula.

The shooter has cooperated with the investigation and was released subsequent to the preliminary investigation. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the incident.

The names of the men who were involved were not released.

Ronan Police Department and Flathead Tribal Police assisted in the response and investigation of this incident.
