MOSES LAKE — Grant County Health District said Monday that there have been 688 county residents who have recovered in the last two weeks from an earlier diagnosis of the coronavirus. Patients are considered recovered 28 days after testing positive for the virus, though they may still have symptoms or long-term health effects, the district added.

There were 109 new cases of the coronavirus in the county over the weekend, including 37 cases in Quincy, 29 cases in Moses Lake, 16 cases in Mattawa, 11 cases in Ephrata, nine in Warden, four in Royal City, and three in Soap Lake, according to the health district. The total in the county rose to 1,581.

State officials reported Sunday that 91 local residents have been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 over the course of the pandemic. Thirteen county residents with the virus were hospitalized as of Monday, according to the health district.

Since mid-March, 12 Grant County residents have died after becoming infected with the virus, all of whom had their primary cause of death listed as COVID-19, according to the health district. The death certificates of two additional people who tested positive for the virus and later died are pending review.
