A Kalispell man was arrested after a recent domestic incident that allegedly left a woman and her brother with various wounds.

Zachary Thomas Havens, 33, was charged with strangulation of a partner or family member, a felony, and assault, a misdemeanor.

According to the criminal complaint against Havens, two Kalispell Police officers responded to a Greatview Drive residence July 31. The female victim said she and her ex-boyfriend, Havens, had an argument that turned physical when he allegedly choked her. Officers saw visible red marks on her neck.

The woman’s brother reportedly intervened in the altercation and told an officer Havens allegedly bit him before running from the residence. Officers reported photographing the bite mark.

Havens faces a five-year prison term on the felony count and a six-month sentence on the misdemeanor.

He posted $25,000 bail Tuesday, Aug, 4. Havens is due in court Thursday, Aug. 13, for arraignment.
