MOSES LAKE – Free lock boxes and trigger locks will be given away in the parking lot of Sportsman’s Warehouse from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, for the third annual Safe Firearm Storage Giveaway.

The event will be hosted through a partnership between Samaritan Healthcare and Moses Lake Community Health Center, with support from Molina Healthcare and KDRM/KBSN Radio, according to a press release.

Those in attendance will receive hands-on training on how to use a lock box and trigger lock. One of the devices will be given out free per person, with a maximum of two items per vehicle. Recipients must be age 18 or older, and supplies are limited.

“Safe firearm storage protects children, reduces the risk of firearm injury, and saves lives,” said Samaritan volunteer services coordinator Rachelle Lange in a press release. “This is our third year holding this event, and we are excited to see the community join us again on August 22nd.”
