Mercedes-Benz win streak comes to end in high-scoring affair

MOSES LAKE — Mercedes-Benz college prep squad went 1-2 over three games this past week, moving to 20-10-1 on the summer.
A five-game winning streak came to an end last Wednesday as Boss Baseball took down Mercedes-Benz in a high-scoring affair, 20-10.
An early deficit continued to build through the game, with Boss Baseball able to seal the victory with seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Othello’s Jaxon Rocha finished 3-4 from the plate in the game. Trey Garza also notched three RBIs as well as a pair of doubles in the game.
Mercedes-Benz was able to come back with a win on Thursday, holding back Boss Baseball’s offense in a 5-1 win. Down 1-0 heading into the top of the fourth, Mercedes-Benz got the offense going with a pair of runs on its way to the win.
Garza finished 2-3 from the plate in the win, with one RBI earned. Rocha finished 1-3 in the game.
On Monday, New Level Prep was able to pick up the 4-2 win over Mercedes-Benz, holding off a late comeback. New Level picked up a 2-0 lead in the second inning, adding a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth.
