Coronavirus: 147 new cases

MOSES LAKE — There were 147 cases of the coronavirus confirmed in Grant County over the weekend, the most for a single update, the Grant County Health District reported Monday.
There were 44 new cases reported in the Quincy area over the weekend, 39 in Moses Lake, 27 in the Mattawa area, 12 in Ephrata, 10 in Warden, eight in Royal City, seven in the rural Grant County area near Othello, and one in Soap Lake, according to the health district.
Grant County over the weekend also topped 100 residents hospitalized since the pandemic began, according to the state Department of Health, with 101 in total as of Sunday. Seventeen people are currently hospitalized, according to the health district.
In addition, 950 people previously infected with the virus have recovered in the last 28 days, according to the health district. The district defines a person as recovered 28 days after their positive test results came back, regardless of whether they are still symptomatic or experiencing long-term health effects from the virus, according to the health district.
