Coronavirus: New cases reported over weekend

MOSES LAKE — There were 74 new cases of the coronavirus confirmed in Grant County over the weekend, including 25 cases in the Quincy area, 22 cases in Moses lake, 12 in Royal City, five in Warden, four in Ephrata, three each in the Mattawa area and the rural Grant County area near Othello, according to Grant County Health District.

The total number of coronavirus cases confirmed in the county since the pandemic began rose to 2,137, according to the health district. In addition, 1,147 people have recovered; the health district considers a person recovered 28 days after their positive test results if they are not hospitalized, but the person may yet be symptomatic or have long-term health effects.

The health district reported Monday that 19 are currently hospitalized.

There have been 615 cases confirmed in Moses Lake since the pandemic began, 580 in the Quincy area and 382 in the Mattawa area.
