Gallatin County announces fan limits for fall sports
Daily Inter Lake | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 4 years, 4 months AGO
There will be spectators at Gallatin County high school sporting events this fall, the county announced Tuesday.
Similarly to Flathead County, Gallatin is allowing two spectators per athlete at football, soccer and volleyball contests. Fan attendance for cross country and golf has yet to be determined.
For contests that include two Gallatin County teams – this is the first year of two Class AA schools in the county seat of Bozeman, with the opening of Gallatin High – the visiting teams will also receive two tickets per athlete.
Gallatin County is also home to Class A Belgrade, Class B Three Forks and Manhattan and Class C schools West Yellowstone and Lone Peak.
“I am more relieved than happy right now,” Bozeman Schools activities director Mark Ator told 406mtsports.com. “I’m happy for the parents.”
There were rumors that Missoula County would release a statement about fall activities Tuesday, but an MCPS spokesman told 406mtsports.com that Friday would be the earliest date for that.
There was a golf tournament played in the county Tuesday – the Missoula Invitational – without spectators.
