Kalispell police investigate shooting

Kalispell Police officers are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on the northwest side of town.

According to information from the department, at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, Kalispell police were alerted to a report of a person at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center suffering from a suspected gunshot wound.

Officers responded and investigated, which included serving a search warrant on a residence in the northwest section of Kalispell.

The shooting victim who sustained injuries was treated and released from the hospital.

The suspect was interviewed by the Kalispell Police Department.

It is important to emphasize there is no ongoing threat to public safety as a result of this situation, the Kalispell Police Department said in a press release.
