MOSES LAKE — The largest portion of students in Moses Lake School District will be learning all-online when the school year begins, according to numbers provided by Superintendent Josh Meek.

Asked what he expected, Meek provided this breakdown in an email Saturday: 3,259 students, or about 41 percent, will be enrolled in remote learning; 2,613 students, or about 33 percent, will be enrolled in full in-person education; and 2,034 students, or about 26 percent, will pursue blended learning — a mix of online and in-person instruction.

Enrollment is also down by 6 percent from the previous year, around 500 students, a significant decrease, Meek said.

Registration began on Monday for the district’s 2020-21 school year.

According to the district, all school offices and the district Learning Services Center at 1620 S. Pioneer Way in Moses Lake will be open from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for parents wishing to enroll their children in school.

Classes, both in-person and online, are set to begin Wednesday, Sept. 9.
