MOSES LAKE — A 72-year-old Ephrata woman died in a hospital earlier this month after a head-on collision north of Moses Lake, the Washington State Patrol announced Wednesday.

Lee Hampton, 72, was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital where she died Aug. 18 after a collision on state Route 17 near milepost 58, the agency wrote in a press release. Hampton had been traveling southbound on the highway when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle driven by 39-year-old Wenatchee resident Gregory Lisewych.

Lisewych was transported to Samaritan Hospital due to his injuries. Hampton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision, according to state troopers, and the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
