MOSES LAKE — The annual Veterans Job Fair, originally scheduled for Sept. 26 at the Grant County Fairgrounds, has been canceled for 2020.

The cancellation was due to concerns about the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a press release from the sponsors, the Grant County Veterans Advisory Board.

The job fair has been an annual event, connecting veterans with prospective employers and services available to them, from housing to transportation. Traditionally volunteers also distribute military surplus gear.

The county has a Veterans Assistance Coordinator, who can help veterans with food, clothing, rent, utility assistance and cold weather gear. Veterans can set up an appointment by calling 509-754-2011, extension 2931. Veterans must provide proof of honorable service and Grant County residency, and must demonstrate they qualify for the services.
