Glacier’s Jake Rendina and Rocco Beccari are first-team All-Western AA selections for football, according to the all-conference honors teams released Thursday.
Rendina, a 230-pound junior running back, led Class AA in rushing and scoring 2020 while helping the Wolfpack to a 7-3 mark. He ran for 1,328 yards and 28 touchdowns, and added another TD receiving.
Beccari, a 250-pound senior lineman, was among a handful of players that were first-team on offense and defense. He was selected at defensive line and offensive tackle.
He led the Pack in defensive points while making 55 tackles, including five sacks and a team-high nine tackles for loss. He forced one fumble and recovered two in 2020.
Eight players were first-team both ways, and six of them are from State AA champion Missoula Sentinel: Geno Leonard, Soren Syvrud, Zac Crews, Jace Klucewich, TJ Rausch and Charlie Kirgan. Big Sky’s Colter Janacaro was the eighth.
There are 22 first-team selections on offense and 21 on defense; Sentinel claimed 22 first-team players as well as the co-defensive MVPs, Leonard and Syvrud, and offensive MVP, Sirmon.
Glacier had four more players earn second-team honors: senior Ethan Diede at defensive end, senior Luke Bilau at tight end, senior Tyler Hausmann at safety and junior Patrick Rohrbach at punter.
Flathead had one second-team selection in senior linebacker Alec Thomas. The 205-pounder led the Braves with 75 tackles and had a fumble forced and recovered.
The All-State teams for AA are to be released Friday.
