Over the last few weeks, all-state teams have been released and a handful of local athletes made the cut.
Five Sandpoint High athletes were named to the 4A all-state soccer teams. The team is chosen by the Idaho High School Soccer Coaches Association (IHSSCA) and United Soccer Coaches (USC).
Junior Emma Thielbahr and senior Jordie Breeden received spots on the 4A girls first team while senior Hattie Larson and junior Piper Frank earned honorable mentions.
For the boys, senior Zander Moore was named first team all-state.
Thielbahr didn't play for the Bulldogs this fall. Instead, the defender attended the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. She earned Inland Empire League all-league honors as a freshman and sophomore and was named all-state last season as well.
Breeden tallied eight goals and four assists this fall to garner first team all-state honors for the second straight season.
This is the third time Larson has been given all-state honors. As a sophomore and junior, the goalkeeper was named first team all-state. Larson made over 70 saves in net and recorded four shutouts this season to earn all-league honors.
Frank emerged as a star for the Bulldogs this fall after receiving first team all-state honors in 2019. She made the all-league team after tallying six goals and six assists.
Moore capped a stellar career on the pitch for the Bulldogs this fall by earning all-state honors for the first time. He scored 10 goals this season to earn league MVP.
Senior linebacker Tag Benefield earned a spot on SBLive's high school football all-state team. The team was released Friday and spans all classifications.
Benefield was a force in the middle for the Bulldogs all season and earned IEL Defensive MVP for a second time. Benefield had 121 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two defensive touchdowns, one sack and one forced fumble this year.
Senior Gabby Hicks garnered an honorable mention on the 4A volleyball all-state team. The all-state volleyball teams are chosen by the state's coaches.
The outside hitter led the Bulldogs in kills with 209 and in aces with 27 to earn all-league honors for the second consecutive season.
