Police are asking members of the public who wish to participate in the Thursday procession to honor the late Sgt. Mike Victorino to remain on the sidewalks or roadsides during the procession.

The procession on the road itself, said Chief of Police Jimmy Cornelious, will be reserved for first responders.

“People are welcome to come,” he said, “[but] we’re not going to have vehicles for traffic direction. For everyone’s safety, we ask they stay off the road.”

The procession will take place Thursday at 1 p.m. at Monarch Road in Sagle. It will continue on Highway 95 across the Long Bridge, go north onto First Avenue in Sandpoint, turn west onto Cedar Street, then north onto Fifth Avenue. The procession will then follow Highway 200, continue east onto Fourth Street in Ponderay, pass Ponderay City Hall and turn north on Elm Avenue. It will then continue across Highway 200, turn west onto Kootenai Cutoff Road, and continue past Highway 95, ending at the Bonner County Sheriff's Office.
