ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Max Cervi-Skinner, North Idaho Cross Country

Cervi-Skinner, 14, an eighth-grader at Canfield Middle School, won the boys age 13-14 race at the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in Paris, Ky., finishing the 4-kilometer course in 13 minutes, 15 seconds. He also helped the North Idaho Cross Country team win the boys 13-14 age division. “Max is a coach’s dream: a gifted, coachable runner who seeks to make every race his best race," NIXC coach Erin Lydon Hart said. "He is truly born to run, lead and triumph.”
